Fieldlabs
In the worldwide JAIN Fieldlabs, products and services based on AI and e -health technologies that maintain the quality of life of people with dementia for as long as possible, are being designed, developed, tested by people with dementia, together with knowledge institutes and companies. This means that in JAIN field labs people with dementia, informal and professional carers, local Alzheimer's associations together with JAIN experts are contributing to the development of technical support products that match the needs of people with dementia. Subsequently, with those involved in the fieldlabs, demonstration models will be iteratively developed into prototypes.
The fieldlabs consist of local people with dementia and their carers at home, professionals from the municipality and JAIN experts. Organizational and control activities of the fieldlab hub between the Netherlands and Local Fieldlab abroad will be organised by JAIN. Local project in-depth activities will be managed by a local manager, this is the expert who brings in the research subject and receives the results of the research. As soon as the project-plan will be approved by JAIN, projects will be started in the fieldlab. The physic venue of the fieldlab could be a meeting room in a hospital, care-institute or in a university. Hospitals care-institutes or universities are part of the worldwide JAIN learning community.
In general objectives of a fieldlab could be:
- Testing a labmodel whether it meets the wishes of the end-user locally.
- Evaluating best activities and therapies, together with the end user in-depth development of the lab model into demonstration model.
- Evaluating usefulness of insights in improving interventions and quality of life.
- Investigate how to adapt a full-fledged product to meet country requirements and can be implemented and roll out in the country where the field lab is located.
- Searching for local co -financers for development etc.
