As senior researcher, dr. Franka Meiland focusses on psychosocial interventions for people with dementia and their carers. She has studied development, evaluation and implementation of various interventions at Amsterdam UMC. Since about 15 years these interventions also consist of Assistive Technologies. Regarding this topic, she also works at Leiden University Medical Center and German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) Witten. She is also leader of the Taskforce on Assistive Technology at INTERDEM; an international group of active researchers in the field of early and timely psychosocial interventions in dementia.
Her mission is to get the developed and successful technologies used in daily practice, with the aim to improve care and support for people with dementia and their carers. About this, she teaches and advises health care professionals and others in this field. Having this (international) experience, JAIN would not be JAIN without Franka Meiland.
We are looking forward to making the WJC a success, together with Franka.
