The last, but obviously not the least, in the row of our 8-week expertblog is our dear friend Marco Blom; the scientific conscience of JAIN. Marco focuses on the addition of quality of life to the lives of people with dementia and their carers. His vision on the application of technologies, value propositions, business cases and business models and what is explicitly really needed for them, is leading. Together with Marco, JAIN has become what JAIN is today: a global initiative.
Drs. Marco Blom Blom (1961) is scientific director of Alzheimer Nederland and is together with his team responsible for all the important scientific research that is financed by Alzheimer Nederland. Patient involvement and a strong focus on impact are important themes within the research portfolio. The thorough knowledge of Marco also led to national and international distinguished innovation projects of multiple organizations, including JAIN, in the field of dementia.
In close collaboration with Marco, we are convinced that we can fulfill our vision and mission as to contribute to ‘Mission IV‘; the social theme of Health and Care of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. Marco Blom is chair of a multidisciplinary team that supports this endeavor. The goal is to raise the quality of life by 25% of people living with dementia, by 2030.
JAIN celebrates working with Marco because of his friendly attitude, personal leadership, organizational skills and his solidarity towards other friends and contacts involved in the JAIN coalition. JAIN wouldn’t exist the way it is now, including the national and World JAIN Challenge, without the support and expertise of Marco Blom.
