From JAIN’s early days, Rose-Marie joined JAIN as one of the first experts in the use of technology in dementia care. As a researcher, Rose-Marie Dröes is a (top-level) professor of psychosocial care for people with dementia at the department of psychiatry of Amsterdam UMC/VUmc.
Prof. dr. Rose-Marie Dröes prioritizes people with dementia and their carers; they must have a meaningful daily life that matches their wishes and needs. To realize this, she became chair of the research program “Care and support in dementia”, a partner of the Alzheimer Center – VUmc School of Medical Sciences, member of the board of the Amsterdam Center on Aging, president of the National Working Group Meeting Centres and president of the international MeetingDem Network.
Actually, her contributions just don’t stop. She has created meeting centers all over The Netherlands and abroad, and she is the driving force behind “Find My Apps”; helping people with mild dementia to help them find supportive apps for self-management and meaningful activities in their daily life.
It is an understatement to say that JAIN is proud to work with her. Nevertheless, JAIN wants to describe grand appreciation for having her as an advisor and her contributions to society.
